Beginners and Improvers at Headington RoadRunners
If you've entered Race for Life in July and you'd like to run or jog, rather than walk the course, but you're not sure how to make the transition from walking – we have a programme that can help you. Come along to Thursday club nights and join the "Beginners" group. We will help you to increase from walking, through running for just a few minutes, to covering the full 5km. We meet on Thursdays at OXSRAD leisure centre, Marston, Oxford at 7pm to warm up and then your group will start around 7.15pm. The session lasts for 45 minutes, including warm up and cool down. The Beginners programme starts in March each year – the date is advertised on the website home page Diary and News items.
New and returning runners: 30-50 Group
As the name suggests, this group is for suitable for improving or returning runners who wish to progress from 30 minutes up to 50 minutes or an hour, when you will be able to join the regular shepherded groups at the HRR club session on a Thursday evening. The 30-50 group starts mid July, so come along and join us at OXSRAD, details as above.

Monday Short Run
We also have a short run, 5km / 30-35 minutes, on Mondays. This session is suitable for slower runners and it is very useful as a recovery run. We leave OXSRAD promptly at 6.30pm on Mondays.
