HRR Road Championships
Details:

HRR's report on last year's race says that it was a bit wet, and a changed course. But still enjoyable, a good atmosphere and a good HRR turnout. I've counted them: 71 HRR runners took part in last year's Town and Gown.

The event is organised by the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign. Their publicity says this is a fast and unique course which allows you to pace the closed streets of Oxford city centre, passing historic buildings and ending in the beautiful University parks.

The race is timed by chips and you get a T-shirt, a medal and a goody bag.

You can enter online. I got an e-mail on May 4th to say that entries close on May 10th. There is a list of entrants.

In 2010, the race will start on Parks Road near to the Keble Road entrance to the Parks. The race turns left into South Parks Road, along St Cross Road, Longwall St, High St, Cornmarket St, Broad St, before turning left up Parks Road, onto Bradmore Rd, Norham Rd, Fyfield Rd, Norham Gardens returning down Parks Road and left into Holywell St, Jowett Walk, Mansfield Rd, South Parks Rd before entering the Parks at the South Lodge Gate. The last 3 kilometres will be around paths within the Parks. Here is a link to the course map.

A sportssystems.net web page says that race numbers and final details will be sent out approximately two weeks before the race. I got mine on May 7th.
